This short-term residency combines musical performance, visual & literary arts with education for an ultimate experience that aims to ignite thought and expand perspectives.

A La Carte Programming Options: Photographic Exhibitions, Arts & Education Workshops (Creative Writing, Photography, Art & Education Community Experience Tours (Buffalo NY), etc.

Residency Details
Performance:
Duration: 45 minute Performance & 15 minute Artist Talk
Combining original poetry and hip hop, national recording artist, A.I. The Anomaly (Aitina Fareed Cooke) illustrates stories of endurance through hardships. A.I. showcases how the arts can be used to heal, motivate, inform, ignite and inspire change while sharing personal stories of trauma and triumph.
An artist talk follows after the performance to give the audience a chance to ask questions and go into further dialogue.
Arts & Education Workshop Options:
Duration: 2.5 hour Workshops
Lens for the Voices: Professional Development
Take a journey through the magical world of photography and learn how to implement strategies for your organization to build connections through a variety of hands-on photography and writing activities.
Poetic Perspectives: Creative Writing Workshop
Experience a variety of creative writing exercises in order to collaborate with other participants and compose poetic pieces that build perspective.
Through the Lens: Photography Workshop
A creative media arts program with a ‘fokus’ on Photography and Literary Arts. Participants will learn about the similarities of the camera and the pen/pencil and how both can capture a story.
Keynote Speaking/Presentation
Duration: Up to 45 minutes w/Q&A

Living Life as a Blank Canvas: A discussion on taking what you learn within life and within the college/educational field and making it work as your tools/paintbrushes. How to utilize creative problem solving to shape a career that utilizes the skills that you’ve gained in life to create pathways of intentional success.
Pain, Passion & Purpose: Sharing personal stories that deal with childhood trauma and how art can influence passion and lead to purpose. Discussion on the idea of "Artivism" and how to utilize Arts & Education to ignite change.
Orchestra of Thought: Discussion on the art of collaboration and practical ways to create, connect and build with others from the community. Presentation of art/photography & video and how art can be the foundation to igniting thought and expanding perspectives.
